The ProjectCalc Plus Model 8528 (MX) is a metric construction calculator for Canadian contractors and DIYers working in centimetres and metres. Estimate materials, calculate areas and volumes, and handle common building math without converting every measurement back to imperial.

Useful calculations on site

  • Work in centimetres and metres, including square and cubic measurements.
  • Convert between common building units and calculate diagonals for square-up checks.
  • Estimate quantities for bulk bags, flooring, tile and other projects.
  • Use the BTU function to estimate heating requirements for an entered volume or convert BTUs to kilowatt-hours.
  • Store custom material sizes and use standard arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, pi, reciprocals, squares and square roots.

Metric project defaults

Adjustable starting values are available for paint (10 m² per litre), wallpaper (5.226 m per roll, based on 520 mm × 10.05 m), tiles (100 mm default plus eight sizes from 50 mm to 500 mm), bricks and pavers, and sheet goods. The default 2440 × 1220 mm sheet value is 2.9768 m². Additional sheet sizes include 2440 × 607 mm, 1819 × 607 mm and 1220 × 607 mm.
